The First Fruits of Marriage is an (8) lesson discipleship group for married couples who desire to activate the “love” in their relationship.

God describes his “love language” in 1 Corinthians 13: 4 – 8

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (NIV)

This familiar biblical passage reveals (8) FRUITS that God says is growing in a marital relationship when love is the active ingredient:

1. Patience – “Love is patient”

2. Kindness – “love is kind”

3. Humility – “It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud”

4. Selflessness – “It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking”

5. Forgiveness – “it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs”

6. Truth – “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth”

7. Oneness – “It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres”

8. Victory – “Love never fails”

From God’s perspective, love is an ACTION word. And so couples in First Fruits of Marriage engage one another in fun and creative activities that reveal how each of these fruits is growing in their marriage as they receive blessings and face the challenges of communication, finances, blending families, sex and intimacy, the in-laws, raising children, and more.
